Ekiti State Labour Party National Legal Adviser Resigns

Mr. Biodun Isaac Fashakin announced today at a press conference he's resigning as Ekiti State National Labour Party Legal Advisor, citing political intimidation and corruption by party executives.
Elections will be held in Ekiti State in June for a new governor.
Controversy has been brewing in the State since Michael Opeyemi Bamidele won leadership of the Labor party after defecting from the All Progressive Congress.
Bamidele caused further disruption when  he took over the parties function in Ogun State from former governor, Gbenga Daniel.
Daniel is on trial for money laundering charges.
Fashakin told SaharaReporters, "Every political party has rules as stated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, and those rules must be followed by the party.  If new people are coming into the party, those rules must be obeyed."
"Even "they" must declare at the ward and local government levels before taking any steps…but nothing happened in the case of Bamidele and Daniel.  I cannot sit down and overlook such things."
Fashakin says the Labor Party could easily win in the two states of Ekiti and Ogun if election rules were followed.
Fashakin, who lost in his election bid in 2011 for the Ekiti South senate seat, said he wrote his letter of resignation to the Party's National Chair, Dan Nwanyanwu on January 6.
Nwanyanwu told SaharaReporters anyone has the right to leave the party if they are dissatisfied. But added they are aware of Fashakin's complicity with another party in the State, and are wondering why he is making so much noise about resigning.
Congresses will be in the States this month. The national Labor Party convention will be held in September.

He disclosed that a congresses in all the states were they have the party would hold this month but that of its national convention would be held in September.
