Nollywood Actor Tchidi Chikere Set To Marry Nuella Njubigbo

Nollywood Actress Nuella Njubigbo and movie director/producer, Tchidi Chikere are reportedly concluding plans to tie the knot. The wedding will be taking place on Friday, 28th of March, 2014 in Anambra. It was gathered that the couple decided to take the bold step as they were tired of hiding their affair and because Nuella was pregnant again. Last year, there were reports that Nuella had moved into Tchidi’s home and that she lost a pregnancy but they both denied this. Tchidi divorced his wife Sophia and the reason for their separation has kept under wraps but some sources said it was because the ex-wife had been unfaithful in the marriage, while others claim that the Actress Nuella was the reason for the breakup because they were dating while he was still married to Sophia.

#OccupyEverything: Nigerian Government Has Lost Legitimacy

You know those miscreants online. The few among us who lack a shred of decency and productivity and as soon as a post is made on FaceBook or any online forum, quickly paste a message that is something like this:
NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE AUTHORIZED CAR AUCTIONS/SALES FOR 1ST HAND USED TOKUNBO VEHICLES FOR SALE AT A LITTLE COST. THESE ARE CARS BEEN SEIZED BY THE NIGERIA CUSTOM AUTHORITY FOR ILLEGAL IMPORTATION OF THE VEHICLES INTO THE COUNTRY AND NOW ON AUCTION SALES. CONTACT ADEOYE FELIX.

Yes, ‘Adeoye Felix,’ or ‘Customs Adedayo Smauel’ those pests. Or those ‘MTN Cheat’ guys. These society rejects, the ‘Wendel Simlins,’ the ‘Deri’s, the ‘redeemers,’ the debased humans who never tire and seek every opportunity to cheat and rip people off; these are the same fabric of ‘humans’ that head our government: 419, fraudsters, common touts and petty miscreants. The custom scam that irritates us online everyday is no different than the deadly one organized by our Interior Ministry under the government of Goodluck Jonathan and conducted by the Customs and Immigration department. The scam is the same. Allegedly a company called ‘Drexel Nigeria Ltd,’ owned by top ruling politicians was contracted to orchestrate this mega scam, defrauding our desperate, unemployed youth of N1000 a head to the total tune of at least $6.5 billion naira ($40 million) for only 500,000 selected candidates.

And to make matters worse, it was our government paid Immigration workers that were seen in the recruitment scam exercise. The company contracted simply scammed the people of the billions and used government workers, paid by the government to do the work. It is also deducible that the Interior Ministry robbed Nigeria and Nigerians from both sides. I bet you there was a huge government allocation from the nation’s coffers for this same exercise. Double robbers!

And this scandal we witnessed this Saturday, it is not the first, oh! We only heard of this one because of the recklessness, the excessive greed and the numbers that died this time. They have been doing them like this every time. There is one that happens in NYSC too, where every year they rip off corpers of the same dues for the same phony projects. There are many government organized and conspired painful scams like this that the exploited people, the youth and unemployed suffer.
#OccupyEverything
Nigerians must stand up to rid the nation of these thieving trolls, these parasites. It is not enough to ask for the Interior Ministers head. When Stella stole, we asked for her head. For Diezani-NNPC’s robbery, we ask for their head. For ASUU and ASUP protracted strikes, we ask for Wike’s head. For other scams, we got Mike’s head. For the support of Boko Haram and other terror, we got Tukur’s head. The truth is, will we keep asking for everyone’s heads every day, day by day as we suffer and are defrauded and sacrificed left and right or is it not past time we ask for the President’s head and Occupy Everything till our nation is rescued from this government? Must we not avenge the deaths of these youth our students killed and all those losing their lives north and south in this nation ruled by proud fraudsters? If we do not rise, will they find our missing $20-127 billion? Will they refund our N1000 to the 6.5 million of us?
Occupy the national conference!
Occupy the federal ministries!
Occupy the state government houses!
Occupy the state secretariats!
Occupy the NNPC offices!
Occupy all government parastatals!
Occupy Aso rock!
Occupy all embassies abroad!
Occupy media houses!
Occupy the streets!

Rid the nation now of this cursed leadership!
Dear Nigerian youth, it is time we Occupy Everything!
Or else, na only coffin we go occupy oh!

President Jonathan’s Curious Silence On Wendell Simlin – Karo Orovboni

If you are reading this article then you are privileged and fortunate enough to afford internet connection; I say privileged because there are millions of Nigerians who cannot afford to eat three square meals a day, not to even conceive paying for an internet service.
Regardless of whom you speak with, they would concur when you pose this statement that we need a better Nigeria. Having agreed on that, it would be difficult for some to agree to certain facts based on their sentiments to issues or loyalty to personalities and their pockets. The fact remains that Nigeria is what it is today because some people, through their actions or inactions have directly or indirectly affected Nigeria.
Another fact is that Boko Haram has hitherto been a thorn in the flesh of Nigeria; their recent attack and show of bestiality was on a boarding school in Buni Yadi, Yobe State; school children were killed. Now, please pause for a moment, think slowly about what would be going through the thoughts of the parents of those innocent children that were killed in their school. Think about how the parents would look back to the last time they saw their children, the last time the children said goodbye mum/dad. The parents would never have thought it would be the last goodbye they would say to their children, not to even conceive the children would be killed in such gruesome manner.
As this was still fresh in the minds of the parents and Nigerians at large, reports broke on how the special assistant to the president on new media, Reno Omokri, posed as “Wendell Simlin”. He sent out a write-up to media outfits, trying to link the suspended Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to the increased violent activities of Boko Haram in the north-east region of the country. But Reno Omokri was exposed, as the document was linked back to him, with various examples of seemingly concrete evidence.
Now imagine what would have happened had Reno Omokri (Wendell Simlin) succeeded in his smear job, he would have successfully sent Nigerians on a wild goose chase while Boko Haram continue to maim and kill innocent children. The media has been thronged with calls for Reno Omokri to be investigated, but this has been met with robust silence by the presidency, possibly in the hope that there will be calm or there will be another issue to cover this up and people will gradually forget that this ever happened. Well, we may forget, oh yes we may, but not until the parents of those innocent children that were killed forget about the pain of the death of their children.
Some have said Reno was just doing his job; I would advise that if a job description desires a candidate who must be able to: lie to his conscience, morals, and integrity - it's not worth applying. A job that would be insensitive to the killings of innocent children is no job; but an insult to mankind; which further raises questions surrounding the integrity of your paymaster. Many will rather the status quo continues, for corruption, and injustice to remain, as long as they continue to make their money, but what about the downtrodden and the poor? What about those who have no voice and cannot be heard? You have a voice but what are you using it for? It is written that those that shut their ears to the cry of the poor will one day cry and will not be heard.
So I will like to join my voice with others and implore the president to break the silence on Wendell Simlin as the robust silence from the presidency is deafening. The president had promised to spare no sacred cow in bringing to justice all those involved in the evil perpetration and early termination of innocent souls, this is just the perfect time and avenue to do so. The fact that the story emanated from the presidency should itself prompt the president into swift action and make sure he gets to the bottom of the issue. Reno Omokri’s action is a grievous national security issue and should be treated as such.
There are some very important questions that are begging to be answered. Why did Reno Omokri write such a document? Was the purpose of his piece to disseminate false information just for political gain; are the lives of the children that cheap for people to play politics with – if this is true? Did he act alone or was he under orders? Does Reno know something about the incessant killings by Boko Haram that he may want to avail the security agents with? He may just know something that will help Nigeria nip Boko Haram in the bud once and for all.
We all owe Nigeria a duty to make sure issues like this are not swept underneath the carpet irrespective of what your bias is. If we choose to be silent, our silence on issues such as this may well turn out to be sinful silence. The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing – Edmund Burke. Whatever we do, posterity will judge us all by the role we played in whatever this nation becomes.

Police In Rivers Arrest Man With Explosives

The Rivers State Police Command has announced the arrest of Ibrahim Aliyu, a 30-year old man from Nasarawa State, in what it described as the bid to rid the State of undesirable elements.
A statement by the Commissioner of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin, said Aliyu was arrested in Ndele Town in Emouha LGA with a huge quantity of dynamite explosives, along with a detonator and cordless wire. He hails from Ndo Village in Agbada Local Government Area of Nassarawa.
“The suspect confessed to be member of a kidnapping syndicate based in Ogbogoro Town and member of a bank robbery syndicate that operates between Port Harcourt and Akwa-Ibom State,” the statement said.  “Investigation is ongoing while other members of the syndicate will be brought to face the wrath of the law.”
Ogunsakin reiterated the full and unwavering commitment of the Police Command to protect lives and property of the people in the state, adding that criminals and evil doers have no place in Rivers.
“It is either they desist from unlawful acts or find another State to hide,” he warned.

One Of The Women Killed In Deadly Immigration Job Screening Stampede In Port Harcourt Buried

The first of at least 20 people killed during a stampede at a Saturday job fair was buried on Monday. Her name is Lucy, one of at least ten people in Port-Harcourt center, who died during a nationwide Immigration job screening exercise that turned chaotic. She was buried by her family in her home town in Akwa-Ibom State, earlier today.
Lucy was one of many applicants, numbering in the hundreds, who appeared for screening at the Port-Harcourt center on Saturday. She reportedly gave up due to the density of crowd, who had surged forward and ran over scores of others, overwhelming the capacity of the center.
Lucy, a woman in her thirties, lived at "German Butcher", Elelenwo in Port-Harcourt. She was preparing to marry before the fateful incident took her life, family and close friends said.

At least ten other people died in Abuja on Saturday, during what witnesses said became a tense scene that led to hassles, and heated arguments among the applicants attending the Immigration job screening exercise.
Many applicants, as yet, an undetermined number, were injured and admitted to the National Hospital. At other centers nationwide crowds of unemployed youth had also overwhelmed various centers. The large number of applicants, some say, puts a human face on joblessness across Nigeria, and reveals in real terms the high and disturbing rate of unemployment in the country.
In Lagos State, the National Stadium center was also overwhelmed with hundreds of job seeking applicants. Immigration screening organizers were surprised and shocked at the large turnout of young people.
At least a dozen job centers across Nigeria had to cancel their job screening outright, leading to anger and frustration.
The job seekers went on the street in protest, what some called, “a futile day,” at the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) job screening center.

100 killed in Kaduna attacks

At least 100 people were killed in weekend attacks on three villages in central Nigeria, local officials said on Sunday.
Scores of residents were also injured when about 40 assailants armed with guns and machetes stormed the villages of Angwan Gata, Chenshyi and Angwan Sankwai, attacking locals in their sleep and torching their homes, said Yakubu Bitiyong, a lawmaker at the Kaduna state parliament.
"We have at least 100 dead bodies from the three villages attacked by the gunmen" overnight Friday-Saturday, he told AFP.
Some of the victims "were shot and burnt in their homes while others were hacked with machetes," Bitiyong said.
Kaduna police commissioner Aminu Lawan confirmed the attacks but refused to give a casualty toll or say who was behind the violence.
Local residents blamed the bloodshed on Muslim Fulani herdsmen, who have been accused of similar raids in the past.
Chenshyi village was the worst affected with at least 50 people killed, said Adamu Marshall, a spokesman for the Southern Kaduna Peoples' Union, a regional political and cultural body.
"Many people are still in the bush, afraid to return to their burnt homes," he told AFP, confirming a total toll of at least 100 dead.
"The attackers looted food and set fire to the barns during the attacks," he added.
Fulani leaders have for years complained about the loss of grazing land which is crucial to their livelihood, with resentment between the herdsmen and their agrarian neighbours rising over the past decade.
Most of the Fulani-linked violence has been concentrated in the religiously divided centre of the country, where rivalries between mostly Muslim herdsmen and mostly Christian farmers have helped fuel the unrest.
